IEC Telecom Expands APAC Footprint with New Local Entity in Indonesia

IEC Telecom Group has established a dedicated local entity in Indonesia (PT IEC Telecom Indonesia), adding another milestone to the company’s long-term commitment to the APAC region. With the regional office launch, IEC Telecom aims to build on the customer base developed since 2024 and to serve Indonesia's growing demand for satellite connectivity in a better way.

Indonesia has a population of over 280 million spread across more than 17,000 islands, making equal digital access a significant challenge. Cities have fibre and mobile networks, but remote villages, plantations, and offshore vessels and sites often remain beyond the reach of terrestrial infrastructure. At the same time, a digitally active population is driving rapid growth in demand for reliable, always-on connectivity.

The government has set clear digital infrastructure goals under Indonesia Digital Vision 2045 and Golden Indonesia 2045, focused on expanding inclusive access across the country. In support of these ambitions, IEC Telecom Indonesia aims to empower public programmes that depend on connectivity to operate efficiently.

This includes the Universal Service Obligation (USO), which is designed to extend internet access to remote and underserved communities, as well as large-scale social programmes like Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG), which deliver free, nutritious meals to children across thousands of locations.

“The APAC region is one of our highest strategic priorities, and over the past two years, our growth here has been significant,” said Antoine Veillon, Group CEO at IEC Telecom. “Establishing IEC Telecom Indonesia is a natural next step, one that allows us to serve this market with the depth and local presence it deserves.”

IEC Telecom Group's global expertise in managed satellite connectivity is now directly accessible through its Indonesia office. PT IEC Telecom Indonesia is equipped to deliver integrated, futureready connectivity ecosystems across energy, logistics, public services, remote communities, and maritime operations, tailored to the country’s fast-evolving digital landscape.

“Digitalisation is already one of Indonesia’s major drivers of economic development, with an expanded digital economy estimated to add up to 11% to national GDP over the next two decades. Its impact will multiply further once reliable connectivity reaches every corner of the country, enabling more people, businesses, and communities to participate in the digital future,” said Jansen Harianja, Sales Director, IEC Telecom Indonesia.

He further added: “IEC Telecom has already been building strong relationships and delivering solutions in this market. What changes now is the level at which we can operate: with a dedicated local presence, full in-country capability, and the strength of a globally experienced team behind us. I am proud to be part of bringing this expertise to Indonesia, and I believe we are well placed to contribute to Indonesian digital transformation.”

With its registered office in Jakarta and a strong network of local partners, IEC Telecom Indonesia is fully equipped to cater to customers nationwide, supporting digitalisation across the country’s diverse industries and remote regions.
