Momentus Awarded NASA Task Order Contract in Support of Initial Phase of FALCON-Lidar Mission to Study Earth’s Atmosphere

Momentus Inc. (NASDAQ: MNTS) (“Momentus” or the “Company”), a U.S. commercial space company specializing in satellite technology, space transportation, and in-orbit services, today announced that it has been awarded a task order by NASA to support the competitive mission formulation phase of the Fleet for the Atmosphere Linking Commercial Observations with NASA (FALCON)-Lidar mission.

NASA’s FALCON-Lidar project is a part of the larger FALCON initiative that uses small satellites (often built or hosted commercially, rather than NASA's own large flagship spacecraft) to study the Earth's atmosphere. The objective is to gather useful atmospheric science data faster and more cost-effectively by leveraging existing NASA-developed instruments on commercial satellite platforms instead of building a dedicated NASA satellite.

Momentus will provide a range of services, including its specialized proprietary technologies, to perform the work supporting the FALCON-Lidar mission formulation phase. The work done in this formulation phase is intended to provide a foundation for NASA to determine a potential follow-on contract to build and fly a satellite supporting instruments to conduct a comprehensive atmospheric study. The Momentus facility in San Jose, California is leading this work.

The award for the FALCON-Lidar mission formulation phase will allow Momentus to continue demonstrating strategic value in supporting science and technology missions for the U.S. government. Continued government task orders such as this one contribute to Momentus’ revenue pipeline and reinforce its position as a trusted partner for national space priorities.
