SWISSto12 Opens Switzerland’s Largest Satellite Integration Facility
SWISSto12, one of the world’s fastest-growing aerospace companies and a leading manufacturer of advanced satellite systems, today announced the inauguration of its largest ever cleanroom, a 1,000 m² purpose-built assembly facility for the industrial-scale production of its HummingSat satellite.
The platform leverages proprietary 3D printing technology to deliver a faster-built, cost-effective and more compact satellite, which lowers the barrier to entry of innovation in space. The additional new 1,000 m² cleanroom facility complements SWISSto12’s existing 5,500m² development and production facility in Renens, marking a major expansion of its capabilities and establishing the first end-to-end, domestic manufacturing hub for satellites of this class.
The development reinforces SWISSto12’s position as a leader in advanced space technology and payload solutions. Today’s announcement follows the company’s news in January of €73 million investment from the European Space Agency, signaling strong institutional confidence in the company’s commercial potential and operational readiness.
Emile de Rijk, CEO of SWISSto12, said: “Bringing this integration capability for our advanced satellite payloads and HummingSat in-house, is central to our strategy to reduce the time and cost of building our products. This agility brings value to our customers who need cutting-edge products and innovation delivered at speed.”
